Banterbury FA Cup – Round 4 UPDATE

Evening all,

Gameweek 11 saw the fourth round of the Banterbury FA Cup with some super tight matches between some top quality sides!

First Quarter – Resident loon, World of Potty was beaten convincingly (20pts) by Earth, Wind + Maguire, they go on to face Milk and Busquets who did what they needed to do scoring just 61 points – the lowest score to win their tie in Round 4. In a Northern Monkey derby match Gallowgators swept the POSH COCKNEY aside with a tidy 6 point win. That set him up for a grudge match tie with an FFC Vet in Jethalal FC who beat high flying League 2 leader by a solid 21 points!

Second Quarter – This quarter is all about the Premier league teams! Crystal Palestine took apart lowest rank side H2H by 30 points whilst Focus On Your Admin won in an all Prem clash with the Circus Monkeys! Busby Babes beat Abra Dubravka and Borussia Teeth won in another all Premier League tie against Finreubwiltigpip Utd. (Thanks as I no longer have to type that name out!)

Third Quarter – Championship side Colonial won their tie against promotion chasing League 1 side Ballsagna whilst Obi Wan Bissaka won a very tight match with @ThatFPLPodcast by just 2 points! Stokie Bloke smashed fellow Premier League team Celtinha who looked like they were concentrating on the league as they sit 2nd in the Prem chasing a Premier League title to go with his Championship 17/18 title! Maragonna’s class showed against League 2 side Kante Neck a Pint as they won by 19 points to set up a big clash with Stokie Bloke!

The Final Quarter and arguably the ‘weakest’ quarter with the least prem sides in remains. Mane in the Bag sits 17th in National League A but that didn’t put him off beating Conference side Wallace FC. Owls Rule took on Gallifrey FC in a tight 3 point affair with the Owls coming out on top who must fancy their chances against a National League side for a place in the Quarterfinals! The only 2 Prem teams in this quarter faced off against eachother with Club Angleterre punishing a poor week by the Not so High Flying Squirrels 74pts to just 37pts – I doubt they had Lord Lundstram! That win rewarded Lord Bench of Banterbury with a tie against Ripcurl82 or Rumours! Rumours ended up winning in the final tie of the round 72 points to 61.

All the results can be found below and also on the spreadsheet here!

Any questions just comment on the thread, or DM me on twitter (@StuLord or @banterburyH2H). Good luck to the teams in their Last 16 matches, remember GW13 is the week for round 5 I know a couple of you are itching to check your opponents’ team out!

It certainly paid to be drawn at home with 20 of the ties being won by the home side. Some tight matches in there with Hari’s H2H edging it 32-31 in a low scoring affair with Red Snappers Gone.

Stokie Bloke, Borussia Teeth and Busby Babes all ended up winning their all Premier League ties. Whilst the lowest ranked team in the competition gets knocked out by Rumours. Lord Bench of Banterbury’s Club Angleterre secured an enticing Premier League all star tie with The Flying Squirrels.

In the two BIG match ups GB&I’s Gallowgators out-played the USA’s Ole Can’t Drive by winning by 7 points, and in the CommunityClash and League1 Derby between the Posh Cockney and Brutal Deluxe, the Northern Monkey (Posh Cockney) ended up winning by a slim 3 points!

The ties are already on the spreadsheet and can be found here! Round 4 (Last 32) won’t take place till GW11, so you have a week to rotate your squads and give a rest to the cup players! I will post the ties closer to the deadline of GW11.

In the meantime, good luck for GW10 any questions or queries you can comment on the spreadsheet or here, or even DM me on Twitter @StuLord. Well done to those teams through to the next round! Cheers Stu!

GAMEWEEK 1 RECAP

Good Morning everyone!

What a start to the season that was! Ole apparently can drive Manchester United to success, Super Frank though? He was not so super! We had 5 managers score over 100 points, the top points scorer was myself with 109pts helped out massively by Harry Kane’s late brace against the Villa as he was my triple captain!

There were plenty of big scores about so some were bound to get unlucky! Ashley Jones leads the Prem with a great century score, and Goobs managed to win by 2 points against last seasons Champion (Gallow) in a very high scoring and tight match 98-96 Unlucky Gallow but well done Goobs!! Not the start he would have wanted to defend his title! Adrian Riley came second last year and also won by 2 points against last seasons Championship runaway winner – too much celebrating over the summer Lyle?

The Championship saw just 2 teams score less than 80 points which is a ridiculous standard congrats guys. That wont help Paul Denbow who scored 90 points but lost to FPL_Fly by 2 points! Elsewhere Paul Morgan and Tom Moriarty has the closest of battles but Martial’s performance for Man Utd edged it for Paul who won by a solitary point! Alan Seddon joined the hundred point club in the first week – well done sir!

League 1 saw the highest score of 109 by me. Tyler Kelly’s score of 97pts see off Stephen Thomson’s 87. William Johnston was incredibly unlucky to score a whopping 95pts but still lose to Pa Fealy’s score of 96! Elsewhere Mike Jonah (midi) sits bottom of the league with a disappointing start to his League 1 campaign!

Next up Banterbury League 2 saw American’s Jay S. and Professor Boogie scored 95 points a piece and beating Guy and Potty who both scored well but got unlucky. Banterbury Newbies Andrew Musetti, FPL_vs and FPL Booster all started off their Banterbury campaigns with wins under their belts.

Now to a stacked Conference league! Jason Hick’s tops the table with a score of 101 against Jonny Griffiths. Horses for Courses edged out bitterandstout in a 1 point game! FPL Queen drew with Dave and his Cat! Notable win for Chris Klein in an all FPLBeerClub clash with PadFul. Mr Walker Porter won by 3 points against Hollie Garner, both Hollie and Pad would’ve beaten or drawn with all but 3 other teams but ended up losing!

Everyone in National League A scored over 70 points such is the standard and depth of the Banterbury Leagues this year! Hop on Klopp beat the Admin team with a century score – good work! Thomas Wilson got away with one winning with a score of 75 in a high scoring week for everyone. National League B is led by FC Coquis who managed to beat the unluckiest manager of the leagues in Shiv Singh. Shiv scored 90 points and would’ve beaten everyone but his opponent FC Coquis! Whereas Will Ash managed to score 66 points and still win!

Well done all, the majority of us had big scores, well done to all the centurions. I don’t know if I’ll have enough time to do a game-weekly write-up especially when the gameweeks start coming thick and fast but it’s GW1 so I thought I’d treat you!

The LIVE Draw for the Banterbury FA CUP will be completed this weekend coming so keep an eye out on the website and twitter account for that!

Good luck next week with whomever you’re playing!

Cheers Stu.

ANNOUNCEMENT: THE BANTERBURY FA CUP

Good Afternoon Banterbury Participants!

I hope you’re enjoying the summer! I’m just announcing the Banterbury FA Cup will be ran next season! Here is a lowdown of who and at what stage each of the leagues will join the cup! Previously known as the Reeva-Grace Cup. This is a competition where much like the actual FA Cup, EVERY TEAM QUALIFIES!

The cup will begin in GW5, and each round will be in alternate weeks ending in GW19 on Boxing Day! How’s that for a Christmas present for the winner! The first round will compromise of everyone up to and including the Conference (and the @BanterburyH2H ghost team). Those 58 teams will be drawn (after GW4) at random against eachother to play H2H in GW5 leaving 29 behind. If there is a tie in the number of points, the most goals scored that GW, then least goals conceded, then the Highest Ranked team at the end of the current GW will qualify.

There will be a rest GW6, then back into action in GW7 where teams from League 2, League 1 and the Championship will join the 29 winning teams, plus the 4 highest Round 1 losers making up the 90 teams!

Back to a rest GW8, and GW9 sees Round 3 and the Premier League teams joining the competition, along with the other 45 winning teams that brings the total to 64 teams.

After this in alternating weeks the 64 remaining teams will be whittled down to just 2 where the final will take place on Boxing Day in GW19.

The best way to explain who joins the cup at the different stages is shown in the image below…

FA CUP

Good luck to everyone in the Fantasy Premier League 19/20 season. Let’s see plenty of triple figure scores!

Thanks for reading now back to tinkering those squads!

Cheers @StuLord

New Season

Good Afternoon all,

With a new Fantasy Premier League season drawing in fast we have been rolling out invites to the leagues the past few weeks. There has been some big changes within the leagues. We have removed dead teams so no more picking up an easy 3 points from the AVERAGE Score – or demoralising losses. We have also removed ghost teams, or teams that have give up halfway through the season – everyone should be fighting to the bitter end no matter your overall rank! Play fair guys and gals! We should have sent out everyone’s invited now so if you haven’t had an invite and would like to get in touch ASAP via the email or on twitter (@banterburyH2H or @StuLord). If you have been removed and would like to re-join we can get you in but in the lower leagues.

We will hopefully be able to be back up to full power and running all the competitions throughout the season! Due to a huge number of people wanting to join the leagues, we have created a Conference league, and two qualifying leagues we have named the National League A and B!

Anyway not long to go good luck for the new season, if you know anyone wanting to join we have got 4/5 places still left which will go soon on a first come first served basis!

Apologies if we have missed anyone’s invite off the list drop us an email and we can sort it out for you!

Cheers Stu!

Banterbury H2H Leagues and Champions League Round Up!

Good Morning all!

Had a pretty hectic week so haven’t been able to update sooner! So apologies for that! But here we go the final update and review of the season! Straight in there to review the Premier League! Gallowgators (@Gallow111)proved too strong once again! Winning the Premier League title for the second time in three seasons – a true Banterbury Hall of Famer. Adrian Riley pipped Alberto Mendonca to 2nd place to become the first loser, Celtinha finished in the top 4k and had a cracking season getting promoted to @FPLGeneral’s #Elite64 league with some of the best Classic League managers around! Well done.

At the other end of the table, we saw two dead teams relegated in PaLmeRo and James 101, both of which will be dealt with accordingly, and Shylass @ the finish didn’t quite pull off an incredible Great Escape and got caught at the final hurdle! I’m sure @Mumbai_Monster will be back to his old ways next year and challenging for the Championship title in which he won back in the 2013/14 season!

They get promotion with Wolf Pack and Flatcap Brothers. Richard Jager’s team scored a massive 2453 over the course of the season averaging over 64 points a gameweek! He topped the Banterbury Leagues on OR/score and finished in the top 1500! A cracking season Sir! Congratulations!

In the Champions League we had Alistair Blackburn’s All the young dudes take on Damien Gracey’s Flatcap Brothers in a very tight head to head match where both teams scored well. All the young dudes are your Banterbury Champions League Champions 2018/2019 as they won 75-73! Congratulations Alistair!

Congratulations to the champions of each league…

Premier League Champions – Gallowgators
Championship Champions – Focus_On_Your_Game
League 1 Champions – Den Perry Did It
League 2 Champions – The Bookhouse Boys
Champions League Champions – All the young dudes

We have had a Fantasy Premier League season and look forward to having the majority of you back next season!!! There has been an unprecedented amount of interest in the leagues for next season over 40 managers are wanting to join! So the Qualification Leagues will be back next season! There are a number of dead teams which will be kicked from the leagues, and we will also fill the leagues up to the brim deleting the average score teams. Meaning it won’t just be the top 3 from each league being promoted!

We will also be running a couple of competitions over the summer for entry straight into the leagues without having to go through qualification leagues! So keep a look out on the twitter account!

Thanks again for making these leagues brilliant! We couldn’t do this without all your participation, personally I’ve really enjoyed the season and loved doing the write-ups when I find time! I’ll be back next year helping Lord Bench of Banterbury out!

Cheers Stu! (@StuLord)

Banterbury Champions League – SEMI FINALS/FINAL!!! (and Leagues Roundup!)

Evening All,

Hope you’ve all been enjoying all the incredible (actual) Champions League matches this week! Absolutely ridiculous the last couple of days! Over to Arsenal and Chelsea to make it an all English final in the Europa League!

Now over to the semi final results! The first semi final saw an all League 1 clash between Fly FC and the Flatcap Brothers! Where Flatcap Brothers opened up an 8 point lead in GW35 with a solid score of 92 to Fly’s 84. In GW36 they bettered their score of 92 by two points to extend their lead to 27 points! Well done Damian Gracey on being the first name in the Final of the Banterbury Champions League!

SEMIFINAL 1 GW35 GW36 Total
Fly 84 75 159
Flatcap Brothers 92 94 186

In the other semifinal we saw Gallifrey FC take on All the young dudes. Jasprit’s team managed to open up a 2 point lead in the first leg with a massive score of 107 over Alistair’s nearly equally as big 105pts! All to play for in the second leg in GW36. But it was Laporte’s inevitable 3 bonus points and the triple captaincy on Mane which helped Alistair through with a score of 80! Well done All the young dudes who make it through to the final to face off against the Flatcap Brothers!

SEMIFINAL 2 GW35 GW36 Total

Over to a League roundup!

Congratulations to @Gallow111 on winning the Premier League title for the second time in 3 years!

Congratulations to Dave Pearson on winning the League 1 title to gain promotion to the Championship! The race for the remaining two promotion spots is hotting up only 2 from the below can get promoted! Good luck guys!

And finally, League 2, Congratulations to Katie Kennedy’s Bookhouse Boys on winning the league and gaining promotion to League 1! The remaining two promotion spots could be any 2 of 4! Good luck to you all, but especially me (“That’s All Vokes!”)

The Banterbury Champions League FINAL will take place this weekend in the final GW38.  A link to the spreadsheet is here! Good Luck to the two managers/teams left in the competition!

Good Luck to everyone in the final gameweek of the season! It’s been a long old slog! Have a look on the website after the gameweek for some really exciting news regarding the leagues! Where we intend on making them bigger, better and with greater exposure!!  We’ve had plenty of interest in joining new leagues which is great!

Thanks again for putting up with my random ramblings, and depleted cup competitions throughout the season! I’m looking forward to next season already! We hope to have all the cups running again next season!

As usual guys, just comment on the spreadsheet/wordpress, reply on twitter, or PM me (@StuLord) if you spot anything wrong or just want a chat!

Cheers Stu
